The Freebird company started in the long ago of the world – well, okay, maybe 1989 isn’t that long ago, but our industry has changed so much, it sometimes feels like several lifetimes ago.

The foundation stone on which our little empire was built was the publishing of local magazines, in particular those with a nostalgic edge. Our Life in Fleetwood magazine was hugely successful for over 15 years, and that success spawned titles throughout the whole of the Fylde coast.

To this day, we still publish strong local titles of the highest quality, both in terms of editorial content and superior design and production. Recent titles include the phenomenally successful FD – a cornucopia of Fleetwood history, nostalgia, features and trivia all packaged up in a class-leading volume to delight the most discerning reader. 2006 has seen the publication of the long awaited Yesterday’s Wyre, delivered to a rapturous audience of both readers and advertisers alike. Whilst it may not be our core business any longer, there will always be a place at Freebird for the top end, regional titles for which we became renowned.
